Jan has spent most of her working life in business. In the spring of 2007 she decided to take private art tuition for recreation – having never taken up pencil or brush since leaving school (many years ago)!
Her life took a dramatic turn during that summer when diagnosed with cancer. Following radical surgery Jan decided to forgo her business career, and steady income, to become ‘an artist’.
Now drawing full time, she sells both original and limited edition prints, working mainly via commissions, personal recommendations and local exhibitions.
When choosing a subject to draw, Jan only has to look to the cottage gardens and orchards near her home in the ‘Garden of England’.
She has exhibited with the Society of Botanical Artists and the UK Coloured Pencil Society.
